My Valentine *

No wonder B was exhausted when he got home last night. Not only did he have to work late on his newest project Kaki Bola (airs every Monday on TV9 at 9.30pm), he also stole some time to prepare my surprise Valentine’s Day gift! How sweet and how thoughtful!

The plan was to go to the post office during lunch today. I needed to collect a registered mail so when B picked me up, I was pleasantly surprised to open the car door and see chocolates, flowers and a red gift box piled up on my seat!

We collected my registered letter (credit card renewal btw), had a quick lunch and then I rushed home to open my gift.

My Valentine from B this year is gorgeous! I love the design, the message inside and I also love that it’s huge!

Reese’s Peanut Butter also happens to be my favourite and now I have a big fat one, which looks too pretty to eat!

My gift unwrapped - a photograph of us taken during our good friend Hans’ wedding last December, in a lovely frame. A perfect thoughtful gift indeed, I love it! And I love B even more for being the sweetest most loving and caring Darling in the world. Thanks for the sweet surprise Love! Here’s to us and to all lovers wherever you are. I hope you had a great Valentine’s Day with your loved ones as well.

iPhone 4 this Valentine's Day! *

Yay Yay! Finally got the oh so awesome iPhone 4, which is also my Valentine's Day gift from B this year. Thank you very much Love and this by far one of the best gifts I've ever received!

B got me this iPhone 4 at retail price from an Apple reseller so the price was kind of exorbitant as compared to an iphone purchased with a Digi/Maxis plan. Impatient me couldn't and refuse to wait for another few weeks or months to finally own the iPhone 4 so we grabbed the first one we found in One Utama shopping mall. I was so excited at the thought of finally having an iPhone 4 for real so I didn't even bother to ask much about the features and what not and immediately rushed home with my new toy after the purchase!

Remember how I was undecided between the iPad or iPhone? I was already swayed towards the iPhone 4 and thanks to all the feedback I received, I finally decided on an iPhone 4, which so far is proving to be everything a Smartphone stands for and more!

Losing Love on Valentine's Day

My friend G thinks he's jinxed and that everything bad happens to him. I am inclined to believe his repeated claims especially since his last unfortunate incident. You see, his car recently got stolen and to make matters worse, it took place outside my condo premises. It all happened on Valentine's Day too, which further reaffirmed G's belief that he will forever remain single thanks to his unlucky streak in love!

My initial Valentine's plan was to enjoy a nice home cooked meal with B. Last minute however, G dropped by our place. As usual we ended up listening to him whine about his "miserable" life. There were good moments too like his new promotion and plans to move into his new apartment. But he was still having trouble in the love department, which explained his coming over to celebrate Valentine's eve with us and not with a significant other!

The only love G had in his life was his car, which he adored and constantly doted on. In fact, he recently purchased a new set of hre wheels and tires for his car, so despite not having a Valentine's date, he was still upbeat about his new buy. The thing with our condo is that the visitor car park is always full. More often than not, visitors tend to park their cars anywhere available; even at no parking zones. I was busy thinking where to have our Valentine's dinner when my reverie was suddenly jolted by G exclaiming in loud disbelief that his car was missing!

We drove around the area thrice to make sure his car wasn't wrongly parked as where he claimed but unfortunately, it was sadly and truly gone. By then, G was completely dumbfounded by the possibility his car was either stolen or towed for parking at a no parking zone. We were all hoping for the latter but since it was Sunday, there was no way to check until the following morning.

In the end, his car was confirmed stolen! His expensive newly-added wheels and valuables inside the car were also gone, which naturally added fuel to the fire. Needless to say our friend G was extremely depressed with what happened. To date, there has been no update on his stolen car and he's currently depending on friends and family to get around. We are of course very supportive of his temporary immobility and try to help out whenever possible.

We don't know if G will ever see his car again or if he'll end up buying new wheels in the near future. We're not sure when he'll get compensated from his insurance company and we doubt truth will ever surface on what actually happened. What we do know for sure is the devastation in his eyes when he finally realized the loss of his one true "love", that fateful Valentine's Day.

Always open to new ideas and opportunities, I decided to check out Acobay tonight. B is busy preparing this huge presentation for work tomorrow so it looks like he will be working overnight and it's Saturday mind you! I am done with my EC drops and am taking the time to explore some new sites online. I've not joined a new consumer network social site for quite some time so Acobay was initially quite confusing to me. However, once I got the hang of it, I was busy uploading my stuff to my new profile. :)

What's unique about Acobay is that you get to share and connect with other users based on your "stuff", which is actually what you plan to promote. It could be anything from my perfume passion or places I've visited and so on, you get the picture right? For me, I am using Acobay to promote my blogs and of course my love for cats. That's why I have uploaded the following "stuff" you see below. Notice how tiny my cats were back then? Oh so cute! :)

By promoting my blogs under the websites category, I get to share my stuff (blogs) with other bloggers where we can interact and get to know one another based on our mutual interest, which is blogging!

No Valentine's Gifts for Me!

My friend Shyam thinks I'm a money-waster! She strongly believes that if I stop spending so much on unnecessary things I would be super-duper rich right now! The thing is, she is the more sensible one between the two of us, so I'm inclined to listen to what she has to say, even though I'm a couple of months older than her. ;)

But seriously, just because I once spent a bomb on green colored lenses only to dispose of them after two times showing them off; does that mean I'm a money-waster? In my defense, the contact lenses were the disposable kind! I also admit that I own more than five mini exercise machines at home. You know, for me to use at home in my quest to become fit! But is it my fault that they all didn't seem to work and I failed to see any difference after months of using them? And it's not like I'm totally wasting my purchases, I am still using my machines...as coat racks ha ha!

This Valentine's Day, I am going to prove my friend wrong. Yes, I shall show her just how much I am NOT a money-waster. So yesterday, I had a little chat with B and insisted that for Valentine's Day this year, I refuse to accept any expensive Valentine's Day Gifts from him. That's right, no fancy dinner, expensive bouquets or gourmet chocolates for Mariuca this year! B thinks this is a splendid idea too, so no gifts for my darling as well. I will cook a special Valentine's dinner for the two of us and if the "kids" behave themselves, perhaps they might enjoy some leftover! Seriously, I am going to start being more careful with my money now and hopefully become less of a money-waster. Watch me peeps, I am so going to prove my friend wrong. Money-waster it seems! ;)

Okay, it's time for American Idol now YAY! My current favourites are Adam Lambert, Danny Goki and Jamar Rogers. All I can say is hot hot hot and to my American buddies (you know who you are!), I'm counting on you to vote on my behalf again LOL! :)
