MM – Little Things by AHMIR*

The month of August came and left with quite a few challenges, good and bad. Not wanting to dwell on the latter, my focus this post is the good namely the official nuptials of my little brother, which happened to fall on the same date as my birthday.

So it was a double celebration this past Merdeka weekend and though it was a little hectic, all's well that ends well for my brother and his new bride who are now taking a break before resuming preparations for the groom’s side of the wedding reception at the end of this new month.

This joyous end in August calls for a musical start to my first week of September and what better song to feature than the beautiful birthday dedication I received from my Love this year? 

Originally performed by the awesome (yes, I am a fan!) One Direction, this number with a soulful take by AHMIR is one that has recently made it to my Spotify playlist. So here’s sharing this wonderful dedication with my readers. Have a great September people and Happy Music Monday!

I am back and I am giving my back-to-blogging mode a kick start with a truly awesome Music Monday song selection from when else but the good old 80s!  

Boys of Summer by Don Henley makes me want to go on a road trip; windows down, hair blowing in the wind, music blaring and heading to some unknown destination with my Love in tow! Yeah … freedom from home worries and any other downer that just make life so complicated sometimes.  

From song title to melody, I adore everything about this song. But most of all, I love the story behind the words so happy listening and hopefully, this song would give you the PMU you need to start your week with a great Music Monday!

I’m still not over this song and I doubt I’ll ever be. Love, LOVE the words to Clarity and this beautiful song has been on my playlist for the longest time! As much as I adore the original version by Zedd ft. Foxes, I gotta say this cover by Sam Tsui & Kurt Schneider is the one that haunts and makes my heart skip a beat!

This week, I am truly, madly and deeply in love with Coldplay and their recently released song 'A Sky Full of Stars'. If you have not heard this number yet, do take a listen. Then, tell me you love the lyrics and the melody as much as I do!

First and foremost, I just love the dreamy song title. A Sky Full of Stars also makes me believe in everything that’s nice in the world and it allows me forget the sadness and uncertainty that sometimes seep through our daily lives. More importantly, I think of blue skies, rainbow and everything inspiring whenever I listen to the words especially.

Such a beautiful feel-good tune truly deserves a dedication in its honour so this one goes out to my Darling - Happy Music Monday!

I’ve been listening to plenty of sad love songs lately. Not because they personally relate to where I am in life at the moment but simply due to the mighty force of such simple yet powerful heart-rending lyrics and haunting melody of such numbers.

What do you think of this beautiful song I am featuring this week for Music Monday? I love how Christina Aguilera kept this version, which she performed on the recent American Music Awards; subdued and tender instead of over-singing it.
