MM - Let Her Go by Cole Vosbury *

It’s been a while since I joined the popular meme Music Monday and though I usually have a song in mind, I never seem to get around to posting my selection.

Let’s change that this week with two equally awesome versions of Passenger’s Let Her Go; first by Cole Vosbury, one of my favourite contestants from The Voice Season 5 followed by an equally haunting version from the talented 13-year old Jasmine Thompson.

I can’t stop listening to both versions and to the sad story behind this beautiful song … do you hear what I hear?

Yummy TV!

Football season is back and thanks to our newly-installed UNIFI and the IPTV sports channels we enjoy on Hypp TV, B is definitely on football frenzy!

In case you’re wondering, Hypp TV is a broadband TV service for couch potatoes like me to enjoy a variety of movies, sports, TV serials, documentaries, entertainment and news on-demand. Delivered via high-speed broadband network, Hypp TV brings me High Definition channels and crystal clear transmission even when it rains unlike ASTRO!

This bit of info on Hypp TV is of course meant for local viewers like me but if you’re reading my blog from the UK, you may want to check out BT TV for similar packages on the best rates for your TV, Broadband & Phone needs.

Who doesn’t need faster Internet speed, better call rates and more TV channels these days? And With BT you view, which is one of BT’s more popular services; you will gain access to over 70 Freeview channels for both radio and television, including 4 HD channels too so do check them out for immediate sign-up!

As for B, there are plenty of sports channel on Hypp TV for him to enjoy during this football frenzy  including the newly-added Astro SuperSport HD and Astro SuperSport2 HD as well as MU TV. And since he was the one who was most gung-ho about our switching to UNIFI, I have given him free reign over the TV remote for now.

It’s all good however because none of my favourite TV programs like American Idol, X-Factor and The Voice are currently showing. Plus I’m mostly watching stuff I got off the Internet lately namely Bold & Beautiful and Masterchef Australia and US.

Happily catching up with Ridge & Caroline on B&B

Speaking of Masterchef, I have been so inspired to cook these last few months! Every time I watch an episode, I’d not only end up feeling damn ravenous, I’d also be so excited to cook one of the many yummy recipes I’ve been learning from the Masterclass!

Some of my dishes have been failures but some have turned out oh so scrumptiously beautiful, even I was impressed with my ‘cooking skills’! Yup, cooking and trying out new recipes is definitely one of my new things thanks to my TV-watching days!

Garlic Prawns with Butter Glazed Asparagus, Sweet Corn & Mashed Potato

Grilled Steak with Garlic Herb Butter (which I made from scratch!)

Delicious Glazed Carrots

So how about you? What are you up to lately and is it as deliciously interesting as my new hobby?

Music Monday - Daylight by Maroon 5 *

If you are still not following this season of The Voice, I suggest you start watching this week! Aside from the great entertainment every Sunday night, you can also feast your eyes on the oh-so-hot Adam Levine as he coaches his last standing protégée Amber Carrington; still in the running to bring home the champion title.

My personal favourite left in the competition is Sasha Allen from Team Shakira by the way so good luck to the ladies! This week, I am not featuring a performance from Sasha but rather one from her ex-coach, Adam. I love Maroon 5 and I have featured them a few times on Music Monday and this week is no exception.

Listen to the words of Daylight. You will fall in love with Adam, with the beautiful song and hopefully will start watching The Voice S4 too so you and I can ‘discuss’ the results later online (hi Nessa)!

MM - Over You by Cassadee Pope *

I have a new song playing over and over in my head ever since I heard it performed by Cassadee Pope on The Voice. You gotta watch the whole video clip to see the story behind this sad beautiful song and how Cassadee got Blake Shelton all teary for her heartfelt rendition; sincerely touched and looking almost smitten towards the end when she really got into the song to bring it home with a standing ovation from the coaches.

Guess I am in the mood for sad beautiful songs tonight and apparently Over You Cassadee style has been on repeat on my player since forever! Happy Music Monday and hope you too will share my sentiments when listening to this song, which recently clinched the 2012 Country Music Association Award for Song of the Year.

MM – We’ve Got Tonight by Phil Phillips *

When I found out Phil Phillips, the dark horse of this season’s American Idol was going to sing We’ve Got Tonight, originally sung by Bob Seger way back in 1978 and later recorded as a duet by Kenny Rogers & Sheena Easton in 1983, I was in ecstasy!

Even B jumped when I suddenly screamed and clapped my hands in glee the moment I heard Jimmy (American Idol’s mentor) said he had chosen this song for Phil Phillips to sing in last week’s Top 3 vital performance. I could not ask for a better song, thanks Jimmy for reading the mind of this incurable romantic!

I love what Jimmy had to say about this song. A deep meaningful song, with a dark edge to it and all the emotions of a romantic, aching soul, complete with a haunting melody and lyrics indeed! No wonder this has always been one of my all-time favourite classic songs when it comes to sad love songs with words so beautiful you just wanna cry!

Results show last Friday was totally intense and as much as I love Jessica Sanchez, I was really hoping for a PP – Joshua finale. It is such a shame that Joshua Ledet, the obvious best singer of this season, will not be fighting in the finale, don’t you think?

Yes, I’m posting three different versions of this song because I love them all, starting from the latest version by Phil Phillips. Let’s hope this super duper cutie pie makes it all the way to the Top! Happy Music Monday and please vote for Phil Phillips, America!

MM - Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall by Coldplay *

Yup, definitely feeling musical tonight and what better way to start my week than featuring Coldplay for Music Monday? I truly enjoyed Coldplay as guest performers on American Idol last week. Both their performances were so inspiring. I felt like I was in a Coldplay concert somewhere far from home; simply awesome!

I'm sharing with you my musical high of the week with this great number, Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall from Coldplay. Happy listening and have a great week!
