On our 7th day in London, I woke up early and excited. Today was the day we were heading to Manchester for the big Premier League match between Manchester United and Liverpool!
Euston StationThe previous night saw me busy packing our things and looking through the Rome Apartments brochures I picked up earlier before finally falling asleep. I slept late but rose early to catch our train from Euston Station to Manchester.
Goodbye LondonIt was a chilly day in London and I was glad to board the train, away from the cold and the rain.
Heading to ManchesterWe arrived in Manchester at noon and from there, made our way to the third hotel we'd be staying in on our European Escapade. I was looking forward to seeing our new hotel and couldn't help wondering if it looked anything like the gorgeous apartments in Rome featured inside my brochures.
Manchester train stationWe arrived at the hotel and had a pleasant surprise when former Manchester United player David May dropped by to pass the match tickets to B! David May would be watching the match with us and we happily beamed as other guests crowded around him for pictures and autographs!

Football Chat with David MayWe were running out of time so we decided to check-in later upon our return from the match. Fun and riendly, David May made us feel like superstars when he hailed a cab for us and told the driver to take us to Old Trafford! 
Amy, Aidid Marcello and MeThe cab driver was thrilled to have David May hail his cab and was obviously a little star-struck! He happily chatted with us about the legendary Mr. May all the way to the stadium and made sure he gave us the VIP treatment by driving us as close as possible to the stadium so we could avoid the crowd and the long walk in! 
When we arrived, the crowd was starting to form and there was a steady drizzle. We hurried over to the stadium and joined the rest of the crowd hanging around outside prior to the match.
There was a long stretch of stalls selling novelty items and a whole bunch of football merchandise but I left the football shopping up to B.

Grabbing a quick bite!Finally, we were inside the stadium. I was excited to be in the midst of football fans inside Old Trafford, watching B's favourite team Liverpool play against the mighty MU. The entire stadium was abuzz with excitement!

Come on Liverpool!We were seated in the Stratford end and everywhere we turned, there were fierce-looking Manchester United fans screaming and cheering in intense ferocity!

Manchester United FansThe match ended with a 3-2 win for Manchester United. It was a great play by both sides and the best part of the whole day was me making B's dream come true by watching a live Liverpool match with him!

#1 Manchester United FanFrom the stadium, we walked quite a distance to catch the tram, which will take us back to the city centre. It was still drizzling outside and I had a sinking feeling my hair was gonna 'explode' at any moment!
Oh no frizz attack!
True enough, a few minutes later my hair started to frizz and here is a shot of me and my big-hair, all frizzy from the rain and cold. I looked like a lion!
The day ended on an awesome note for all the football fans watching the match that day and for yours truly as well. Watching a live football match with B in Old Trafford made me appreciate his passion for this sport even more.

It was massive, but luckily we managed to find our seats okay and we didn't get push around by the crowd, they were all civil.. loud but civil ha ha! :-D :-D

Woww!! This is one helluva European Escapade. Going to Old Trafford to check out MU play is sure on my bucket list even though I tak minat tgk european football or EPL. But it sure is an experience to behold. I love getting caught up in the hype of a large crowd so that sure does look like fun.
