Personality Test *

The initial plan was for me to have my Music Monday selection out early, so as to avoid being in the bottom three on the MM list. That didn't happen when I discovered I had some sort of failure on my end, which refused to allow me to view any videos online. I waited it out until yesterday and finally resorted to restoring my laptop to an earlier date, which finally got rid of the missing video problem!

Seeing that it's already Wednesday, I will have to forgo MM this week and instead, I'm going to do a very interesting tag. It's been so long since we had some fun with a new tag and this one came from the lovely Bing where you are required to take a simple personality test that defines your personality so you can get to know yourself better.

Before you start worrying about how long this is gonna take you, let me assure you that the questions are interesting and there's only 9. And after you get your results, you might just find it as amazing and interesting as I did. I took the test and I have to say that my results were pretty much spot-on!

What's a great and easy way to know your blog neighbours a little better? A Have You Ever tag of course and I know just who to tag!

Before I start tagging my peeps, I'd like to touch base with a couple of friends who I'm thinking about right now like Kim, who has been busy packing to move into her new home. Kim is a wonderful artist based in Australia. Her blog Laketrees is ranked 5th among the Top 100 Australian Women Bloggers, how cool is that? I'm glad we got to know each other better last year for Kim is really a wonderful friend. She takes the time to really read my posts and leaves me the most wonderful comments, thanks Kim! :)

I need to send some cheer to Rozella as well, who is down with chicken pox at the mo! Poor girl discovered she got chicken pox right after celebrating New Year, talk about bad timing eh? Rozie is the author of Asian Mutt International and she is another favourite of mine. She writes very well and her posts are always a great read. I love that she puts effort into her posts. Rozie makes me laugh and cheers me up with her comments here and at MPG.

I'm also missing me some Debbie love! Debbie recently celebrated her birthday and is back in her hometown for a long vacation. I know she's having a great time but I hope she comes home soon! :)

And last but not least, I wanna send out some Mariuca love to my other friends for all your visits and comment love at Wishing on a Falling Star. I am still in a lazy New Year mood and have been focusing on my freelance work and family stuff. All the cats are doing okay too, still as fluffy and mischievous as ever. MARIUCA LOVES

Mariuca Gets Quirky! *

Nick and I have this unexplained thing about tags and memes. We both love to tag each other and I don't know why ha ha! We both always complain whenever we get tagged by each other, and yet we continue to do so; each one trying to outdo the other with an even harder tag than the last!

You see, Nick and I started blogging around the same time and had a taste of our first tag together. The most memorable tag that we did together (or rather I tagged him with) was the Alexa Train Ride tag, which got both of us almost in tears from the sheer pressure of having to link everybody on board the Alexa train! At that time, we were fairly new to blogging and tagging, so as silly as it sounds now, we both suffered for many hours; desperately trying to figure out how to get this very simple tag up on our blogs LOL! I can laugh about it now, but I remember feeling so inadequate and silly for not being able to figure this extremely easy tag back then! ;)

Today, I'm proud to say that I've come a long way from that first difficult Alexa Train Ride tag. In fact, I have even come up with a tag or two of my own, the most famous one being the recent Magic Lamp of Luck meme I co-organised with Adrian so YAY me! By the way, feel free to join the Magic Lamp of Luck meme if you have not done so. :)

Okay, so Nick's latest revenge on me is this Quirky tag, which requires me to disclose some quirky facts about Mariuca. Sounds simple enough but I still have to put on my thinking cap...and will do my best to entertain and amuse Nick with some quirky facts about me so here goes!

1. I need to bring with me at least 5 different perfumes whenever I travel! A different scent a day keeps Mariuca happy all day long! :)

2. I can't have savoury and sweet food on the same plate. Like at parties or buffets, where I see some people happily placing their mee hoon or Nasi Lemak and cake on the same plate, that's a no-no for Mariuca!

3. I have to rinse everything before using it. Like if I want to have a drink of water, I'd rinse my glass first even though it's already clean. :)

4. The weirdest one probably is me wanting to wear glasses despite my perfect vision! And my weakness for guys with glasses, which makes Mariuca's heart skip a beat ha ha! Now you see why I'm happily hitched to B eh? ;)

Okay, that's about it for now! I can't give away too much in just one post, so I'll save the rest for another day. In the meantime, here are my victims, so ready or not...out with the quirks peeps!

The Age That I Wish To Go Back To!

I was feeling a bit depressed today. The mood was blue all around so after moping around the house and feeling sorry for myself the whole day, I decided to do what B does when he needs to release stress - check out You Tube!

I stumbled upon this great video, which finally drew a smile out of me! It's a pretty cool yet hilarious version of Rick Astley's Never Gonna Give You Up video. I laughed so hard watching this video so do check it out! This guy obviously has a lot of free time to come up with such an entertaining video. From his appearance, to the props and dancing, he's got it all covered! I have not LOLed this hard in a long time! ;)

The song alone was enough to send me down memory lane, all the way back to the eighties, 1987 to be specific! I was only 14 and loved every minute of being just a girl, whose major issue was the few zits I had on my face! Life was all fine and dandy back then. There were no problems hovering above my head, no heartaches to endure, no stress to overcome...nothing! Just loads of fun and games, hanging out with my friends, going to school and having more fun with friends, crushing on the guy next door...sigh, those were the days!

So if I really could turn back time, I'd love to go back to the age 14, when life was a bed of beautiful roses and nothing but fond memories for me. Then I wouldn't be in this melancholy mood I'm stuck in right now! Unfortunately, I never really got around to finding out all the benefits of SU, so I thought this would be a great time for me to rediscover SU and learn what it's all about by taking part in this meme.

Boo to Bad Service!

Boy, do I have something to complain about today! If you know me well enough, you'd know that I am a stickler for excellent customer service. I can't stand inefficiency or being put on a wild goose chase when the person in charge obviously doesn't know his job enough to give me an acceptable answer. Last week, we decided to stay in and order Mc Donald's for dinner, since we were lazy to go out. Besides, it was Idol night, which means we'd be glued in front of the TV, so a home delivery was a perfect solution - or so we thought!

We were in the mood for some fried chicken, so I asked for 2 Fried Chicken value meals. I specifically requested for NO WINGS, since that is the one part of chicken that I do not eat and neither does B. I asked for BREAST and THIGH instead. The lady, who took my order, spoke to me in English, but I still repeated my order in Malay, since I wanted to ensure she understood my request for NO WINGS. I told her "Kepak tak nak, tolong ganti dengan dada dan paha ye" or "No wings, please replace with BREAST and THIGH". I think I was pretty clear with my order and she too, confidently responded with a somewhat irritated and firm "Yes, Breast and Thigh". Perhaps she didn't like that I repeated my order twice, and in 2 different languages too. I couldn't help myself however, since I've been disappointed by Mc D's delivery on several prior occasions, so one can never be too sure.

Anyway, our order arrived 45 minutes later and I quickly opened my box of fried chicken, expecting to see my requested chicken parts. To my surprise, there was a piece of WING and a drumstick, despite my MANY requests not to include any chicken wings! Trying to calm myself down, I checked the receipt to see that my order was keyed in correctly and was HORRIFIED to see BREAST spelled as BRETTS and THIGH as TIGHTTS! No wonder I didn't get what I requested for; the mistake came from the order taker herself! I was fuming by then and my whole dinner was ruined by Mc D's inefficiency to deliver what I, the customer asked for. We were too tired by then to start a ruckus with Mc D's, so I suffered in silence and ended up throwing away the chicken wing! Mariuca was one dissatisfied customer that night! :(

A few days later, we decided to go Italian and order a pizza. It was either Pizza Hut or Domino's and we decided on the former, since our last order was from Domino's. We ordered 2 regular pizzas, simply because we both wanted different flavours and I was already sick of having B's favourite Hawaiian Chicken. I ordered a Pepperoni pizza and added 2 extra toppings - mushroom and green pepper. Then, I happily waited for the delivery guy to arrive since I was ravenous from not eating a proper meal the whole day.

The pizzas arrived soon enough and once again, I had the shock of my life when I opened the box and all I could see was a Pepperoni pizza MINUS the mushrooms and green peppers! I was so angry by then because the additional toppings cost an extra RM5. I quickly checked the receipt to see if they charged me for the extra toppings and true enough, I was charged an extra RM5 and yet, there were no toppings on my Pepperoni Delight. What's up with that?! I was all set to pick up the phone and throw one of my famous tantrums, but B pacified me seeing that it was almost 11pm and the call centre would have been closed by then.

That was really the last straw for me and right now, I'm going on strike against their home delivery! What's the point in ordering something when what you get is not what you ordered? What ticks me off the most is that this wasn't the first time my orders arrived incomplete or wrong. Furthermore, I've been a loyal customer despite their many shortcomings and is this how they show appreciation to good customers like me? I think not!

Phew! What a relief to get that out of my system, thanks for listening to my complaint peeps. I know there must be something that you guys are dying to trash out in the open, so let's hear it! Sweet Surprise!

I received a wonderfully sweet surprise last week. I was happily blogsurfing while playing Triumph at the same time, when the doorbell rang. It was the postman with a package for me. The first thought that entered my mind as I was signing for the package was that it had to be a credit card renewal. I wasn't expecting anything from anyone, most definitely not a cheque, so it had to be a credit card.

I was however pleasantly surprised when I saw the sender's information and it was actually a little something from my blog buddy, Jean Chia! As some of you already know, Jean has been MIA from the Blogworld for quite some time. She is still settling into her new home and is currently without Internet connection. Even then, she tries her best to drop by my blog when she's at work or we keep in touch via Facebook. I totally didn't expect to get another souvenir from her, especially since she had already given me one before this! I ripped the package open excitedly to see a beautiful pink coin purse she got me from her recent trip to Bangkok! How lovely of her to think of me even though she was away for a biz trip and not pure pleasure. And how even more thoughtful of her to remember that pink is one of my favorite colors! Thanks so much Miss Yummylicious & Martin, I love the purse and it shall be a very sweet reminder of my special friend here in the Blogworld! :)
