Yesterday, I was miserable without my Internet connection. It finally returned this morning but it’s still unstable. I am not late in paying my bill, which leaves me with only one conclusion - Streamyx is acting up again!
No internet connection saw me spending the night catching up on the Bold & Beautiful, dreaming of travelling to Spain and staying in gorgeous apartments in Seville while editing my photos from Amsterdam. I would love to travel to Seville, Spain but with year-end bills to pay and preparations for Hari Raya due soon, our vacation savings will have to take a backseat to these priorities for now.
If time and money permit; Spain is definitely one country I plan to visit. Anyone been to Spain before? Besides the affordable and cosy Seville apartments offering you full kitchen facilities, security and comfort, there are plenty of tourist activities and sightseeing to do in beautiful Spain. Plus, the thought of enjoying delicious Spanish food in a beautiful new country leaves me smiling even in my sleep!
Anyway, I am still trying in vain to finish my European Escapade so this week, I am taking you back to my Amsterdam days, well Day 2 to be specific.
Our hotel in Amsterdam was minutes away from the huge shopping complex Magna Plaza so we dropped by there first. After all the shopping we did in London, Manchester and Liverpool, there really was no more room for massive shopping in Amsterdam. Plus, we were there to relax and simply soak up some good fun, laughs whilst making wonderful memories of the last part of our European Escapade.
There were plenty of boutiques, gift stores and eating places inside the building and once again Amsterdam displayed perfect hospitality when yet another stranger offered to snap a photo of us when he spotted me and B taking turns to snap pictures of each other. Thank you Amsterdam, your friendliness draws me to return to you one fine day so wait for me!
After visiting Magna Plaza, B and I headed to Dam Square. We felt right at home and happily enjoyed our morning coffee al fresco in one of the many cafes there, with the rest of Amsterdam. By the way, the weather was simply gorgeous and though I started out wearing a cardigan, it ended on a cooler note without!
We didn’t visit Madame Tussauds museum seeing that we’ve already experienced the one in London but pictures were necessary. I love how everything seemed brighter, happier and lovelier all around in Amsterdam and I remember telling B that this would be a wonderful city to retire in one day.
B and I took a tram to the city to visit the Hard Rock Café and Holland Casino. I had a wonderful time shopping in the souvenir shops here and if not for my already full suitcases, I would have bought everything in sight!
One of the things I enjoyed was watching the locals play a friendly game of chess on this giant chess board. Isn't it cute and can you spot me in the picture?
We took the tram back to Dam Square and wandered around the market. There was just so much to see and before we knew it, we were lost! And hungry so the only thing we had in mind was FOOD!
We walked around the city for another hour before finally ending up in a quiet part of the square with several restaurants in view. Are you wondering which restaurant did we choose to have our first lunch in Amsterdam? Wait for my next post to find out! Until then, thanks so much for following my European Escapade and I hope you enjoyed this one too!

The Magna Plaza looks nice eh? Wow! Got stranger so kind offer to take photos of you both? So nice! I doubt I will even bother to do that if I see a couple take photos of each other LOL!!
Anyway most of the time, it's them asking me if I can take photos of them instead of the other way round! Why they like to ask me ah? Is it because they see me carrying a camera so assume I sure can take good photos? Wrong assumption! LOL!! :-D
Wow! I think I will definitely love the nice pleasant weather in Amsterdam! Sipping coffee at the outdoor cafe in the fine weather is so heavenly yes? Love it!!!
