Before I continue with my European Escapade, I would like to wish my dear friend LJ a successful surgery today. I hope she recovers soon so she can start planning her vacation. I know she’s considering a local getaway so she won’t be checking out Paris apartments or anything like that.
If YOU however, are planning a trip to magical Paris, feel free to visit my link for low-rate Paris apartments here. Some of the most affordable travel accommodation can be found online and France is not cheap so you would definitely want to save while travelling, starting with affordable apartments in Paris.

Getting back to my EE post, B and I had booked our flight to Amsterdam on Easy Jet online and I for one was most excited. Firstly, I had never been to Amsterdam. Secondly, this trip would see us saying goodbye to the rest of the group we had been travelling with so it would be just the two of us in a strange faraway place!

After breakfast in Manchester Britannia Hotel, B and I checked out from the hotel and walked the short distance to a bus stop where we had earlier booked seats to take us to Liverpool John Lennon Airport. From there, we would hop on an Easy Jet to Amsterdam.
The trip to Liverpool was scenic and aside from the rude local back in Manchester who cut off B in mid-sentence when my hubby asked for directions, everything was cool. The weather that day was gloomy and I couldn’t help wondering what Amsterdam weather would be like. Just as cold or a little sunny?

We got to JL Airport early and checked-in our luggage before heading back outside to continue snapping pictures. Photographs are vital on vacation so it was great to have two cameras with us.
Our flight was on schedule and all the way to Amsterdam; I kept myself occupied by taking cloud pictures.
A little after an hour, we were touching down in Amsterdam at Schiphol Airport! The moment we landed, my demeanour completely changed from a busy on-the-go tourist to a smiley relaxed one! I don’t know if it was the sunny weather or the fact that everyone was smiling and walking instead of rushing and running but I immediately knew that Amsterdam was going to be amazing!

Everyone seemed friendlier in Amsterdam and the shops inside the airport were just as enticing! B had to stop me from shopping the moment we got through passport control and security!

By this time, we had accumulated a whole lot of purchases from London, Manchester and Liverpool so my two bags especially were ultra heavy. After talking it over with B, we decided to store (for a fee of course) two of our four heavy suitcases in the airport, which we will collect on our return flight a few days later. Leaving our luggage behind was a great idea by the way and without two big bags to lug around and hold us back, B and I were raring to get to the city centre and check-in to our hotel!

We purchased train tickets to the Central Station from somewhere inside the airport. The really friendly guy behind the counter was more than happy to be included in the video clip that B was busy taking of me as I purchased our tickets.
From Schiphol Airport, we hopped on a double decker train to Central Station and from there; we had to make our way to the hotel. Unfortunately, we had left behind our hotel booking print-out inside one of the suitcases we stored in the airport so we were a little lost the moment we arrived at the huge Central Station.
As we were frantically trying to figure out a local map outside Central Station, an old man appeared from nowhere and offered us a helping hand! He provided us with directions to our hotel and welcomed us to Amsterdam with a big smile. B and I were so grateful to this wonderful stranger and his gesture simply confirmed my initial impression that Amsterdam would turn out to be absolutely amazing!

Hand in hand, B and I walked the short distance to WestCord City Centre, our fourth and final hotel on this Europe trip! Want to see pictures of our hotel? Wait for my next post!
