After the excitement of watching Man. U. vs. Liverpool in Old Trafford with former Manchester United player David May, we made our way back to the third and final hotel of our UK days.
Britannia HotelLocated in the city centre, the Manchester Britannia Hotel offers a fantastic location with Piccadilly Station a mere 5-minute walk.
Hotel Dining
Our third hotelMajestic is the only word to describe this very old, very Victorian hotel. I was captivated by the fine detailed architecture and the beautiful furnishings inside. The balconied stairway throughout the building is something to behold and one can't help but stare up in utter amazement at the dazzling view above. 
We had problems checking-in to the hotel and it wasn't a good day for the hotel receptionist as well. Earlier, she had to bear the brunt of another unhappy guest who threw a slight tantrum right in front of us. Then, she couldn't find our reservation in the system despite several tries. Our luggage was already kept in the waiting room but we had no rooms! 
In the end, B called his travel agent and managed to sort things out but the whole thing kept us waiting for 20 minutes before finally receiving our room keys!

Checking-inMoral of the story, triple check your hotel or accommodation bookings! Double-checking is not good enough these days so the next time you're on vacation and busy booking accommodation in Seville or anyplace else, don't just double check your reservation. Make sure you triple check!
Lobby AreaThe one complaint I do have about this hotel (despite its beauty and splendour) is the lack of elevators for guests to use. Only 5 floors high, the number of elevators was minimal and it was a hassle to wait our turn before we could finally go up. Most of us ended up dragging our luggage up the stairs to avoid the long wait.
Balconied stairwayOur room was fairly big with FREE Wi-Fi, two single beds, a dresser, coffee/tea making facilities, attached bathroom, closet filled with extra blankets and towels, and a TV. Despite the furniture being really old, they were kept cleaned, which was the most important thing.

After exploring our room and taking pictures of what you see here, we headed back out for dinner with the rest. Somebody suggested a popular Indian restaurant, which serves halal Chicken Biryani.

Spicy Chicken BiryaniThe Biryani was awesome and I wish I had taken more pictures but since we were dining with a big group, I didn't want to hold them back with my incessant picture snapping!
For after dinner entertainment, B and I headed for a nearby casino. No pictures allowed inside so while B played a little Blackjack, I kept busy betting on my fave #29 on Roulette, which came up a few times too by the way!
Manchester by nightTo sum it all up, day 7 of our European Escapade was truly memorable! Hectic and tiring but filled with beautiful memories we wish to capture again on our next vacation. Are you thinking of going away as well? If you're heading to Spain, don't forget to triple check your Seville accommodation before arrival!

Wow!! That hotel decor looks really amazing! Poor receptionist sure had a bad day that day, huh? Sometimes bookings, especially those made much earlier/online can always get lost somewhere in oblivion.. Tp exercise wohhh.. naik turun 5 storeys.

Actually, there was a mix-up between the hotel and their sister company who does the booking for them, hence the missing rooms! But it all turned out okay in the end so it's all good! :-D :-D :-D

It's definitely not as modern as the previous two hotels Mon but still cosy and comfy so we liked it too! :* :*

Yeah it wasn't that spicy to me too but we ordered something else (I can't rem what) and it came with a hot sauce, which was quite spicy.. unfortunately tak sempat take pics lol... :-D :-D

I like biryani overseas ha ha, definitely tastes different from the ones we have here LR.. and though it says spicy, it was just mild for me...still yum though! :-D :-D
