European Escapade - Shopping @ Old Trafford!

On the 8th day of our European Escapade, B and I woke up early in the morning. We had a big day planned and Liverpool was next on our agenda. So far, our trip had been a whirlwind of amazing activities with loads to see and do so we were psyched!

It was also our last day in England and I was already missing this fascinating country. The previous night, B and I watched a travel documentary on TV and we were truly enticed by the gorgeous Venice apartments featured. I've never been to Venice but I remember reading the Merchant of Venice in school. Not only would I love to visit some of the historical sites, museums, theatres, monuments, bars, clubs and sports centres I've only read about, I would also love to savour delicious authentic Italian food while there!

Before spending our last day in lovely Liverpool, B and I headed back to Old Trafford to do some shopping in the huge Mega Store, which was jam-packed with people the previous match day.

It was just B and me that morning inside the cab heading to Old Trafford. The weather was chilly and gloomy so I bundled up in layers of clothes hence the 'bulky' looking me!

Wet cold day in Manchester

Earlier in the morning, I had received an 'urgent' mail from one of my Facebook acquaintances. This person had sent me a mail in a hurry when he found out I was going to Liverpool. He asked me to bring home the new Liverpool jersey, which I would have been happy to oblige ... if and only if he was a little nicer! I was put off by the rude email he sent me. There was no hello or how are you to break the ice, which was necessary especially since this was the first time he had 'spoken' to me online. Instead, the email directly 'demanded' I bring home a jersey for him!

I don't know this guy well enough to be forking up 50-60 £ on a jersey based on his written words, so I was rather annoyed with his rudeness. I despise rude people and recently ended a friendship with a so-called friend who has been rude to me for years so NO ... I did NOT bring home the jersey for this dude!

Outside the Mega Store, we met up with some of B's colleagues from work who were already there hours before us and were about to leave. Aside from Zany who was still shopping his heart out inside the huge store, the rest were headed for yet another location.

B and I spent less than an hour inside the store. I got Mel loads of MU merchandise items while B shopped for his friends and nephew. If you're a MU fan, I am sure you will be much delighted by the wide array of merchandise items available in this huge store. People were walking in and out of the huge store nonstop and we too left with a huge bag of goodies to bring home.

Shopping bags in hand, we made our way back out and snapped more pictures, which we couldn't do the day before thanks to the huge crowd who came to watch the MU - Liv match.

Done shopping and taking pictures, we hailed a cab to take us back to Britannia Hotel where we dumped our shopping bags inside our room before heading out again. Our main agenda that day was a trip to Liverpool after all and we were rushing to catch the last stadium tour of the day, scheduled to start at 2pm.

I will leave you here for now and continue my Liverpool story next week. There's just too many pictures for me to include and I think B would prefer a separate post for his favourite Liverpool team.
