Vintage Ring Vanished!

I was inside a huge unfamiliar shopping mall. The crowd was unforgiving but what do you expect on a weekend? Without intent, without guidance, I found myself heading straight for the
Vintage Jewelry Store. There were no glaring sale signs luring me in but I was feeling a little special and a little self-indulgence was in order. ihikhik

I made my way to the end corner of the beautiful store; focused and determined to leave with a beautiful Vintage Ring in hand. My eyes lingered on the beautiful
Vintage Engagement Rings, earrings, bracelets and pendants inside the huge glass cases, each one tightly secured with locks. From what I heard, this store offers a wide variety of jewelry from the Georgian period through the Retro period including Victorian, Art Nouveau, Arts and Crafts, and Art Deco periods.

Lost for words; I was totally mesmerized by the shiny Vintage Rings that greeted me inside the store. Fickle me could not make up my mind as to which ring I wanted to bring home and then...I saw it! The friendly gentleman behind the counter proceeded to tell me the story behind this beautiful ring. The 19th century styled 14K gold ring comes with 14 rose cut diamonds, and one Baroque pearl mounted on a hand made silver plate. I am not one for pearls but this one here made the ring perfect and instantly my mind was made up!
gelakgulingThe price was a little high but the satisfaction I'd receive - Priceless! I happily took out my credit card from my lime green wallet when suddenly crazy Matt from Nip Tuck appeared out of nowhere! He had his mime costume on and his face was painted white just like on TV. He was holding his toy gun at the clerk. I knew it was a toy gun since I just finished watching the episode on TV but the clerk did not know that and handed him MY beautiful ring! I wanted to say something but the words did not come out. Matt rushed out of the store and I ran after him but I did not get far. I tripped over the expensive store rug and fell to the floor unconscious!Smileys

When I finally came to, I found myself sprawled on my bedroom floor! Where was Matt? Where was the jewelry store and most importantly, where was my beautiful Vintage Ring? Why oh why did I have to wake up before ending my dazzling dream?

One Romantic Rainy Afternoon

One cold rainy weekend, B surprised me with a diamond ring from Diamond & Platinum. We were at The Curve and it was raining cats and dogs outside. I had not the slightest inkling that he was planning to get me a diamond ring nor did I know there was a D&P branch @ The Curve. But that was where we found ourselves that rainy afternoon where we spent an hour choosing the perfect ring for me.
garupaleInitially the salesperson invited us to view their new range of beautiful Diamond Engagement Rings but when we told her we were already hitched and were interested in something more low-key, she directed us to another section of diamond rings, which was more in our price range and preference. tepuktangan

The ring was an anniversary gift actually and I love the way it glitters under certain lighting and angles. And though it's nowhere as expensive or huge as my wedding ring, it is one of my favorite jewelry items in my jewelry box. I love that the ring was a surprise purchase! Spontaneous gifts as such make it even more precious don't you think? ihikhik

As the saying goes Diamonds are a girl's best friend and I have to agree. The only time I don't wear this ring is when I'm asleep. Otherwise, just like B; this ring is always with me on my ring finger. And now, every time it rains, I automatically glance at my gorgeous diamond ring. I am instantly reminded of that romantic rainy afternoon when B showered me with love by presenting me with a beautiful dazzling diamond when I least expected it! Smileys

Bling Bling for B?

No way! My B definitely does NOT like wearing any jewelry at all. In fact he feels restless and more than a little suffocated just by looking at other guys wearing a little sparkle and flashy jewelry. And he tells me so every time he sees it on TV or whenever he sees someone wearing any type of jewelry when we go out.

When we were shopping for our wedding rings, it was so difficult for us to select the perfect pair. I of course wanted something a little fancy but he remained staunch in is belief that guys are not meant to wear flashy jewelry. In the end, we ended up with a minimal design set of wedding bands but of course I had my single diamond solitaire ring as well.

Does your man wear Jewelry and love it too? Does he shop for a little bling bling with you? Today, jewelry is becoming increasingly popular among men, thanks to the wide range of variety in terms of materials and designs available. So even if he does not favor jewelry like B, there are still many other options that make wonderful gifts for your man on special occasions like birthdays, anniversaries or simply just to say I love you!

Instead of going for the traditional types of jewelry that some men find uncomfortable to wear, how about expanding your shopping list to include other non-traditional jewelry items like cuff links, watches, tie clips and even money clips. They now come in a wide range of styles
and types, with gemstone finish and settings that fall under the category of jewelry. And some of them are so beautiful in design, that even if your man is fussy and adamant about not wearing jewelry, I am certain he will appreciate the gift that you have in mind for him. senyumkenyit

I'm always having trouble thinking of the perfect gift for B when his birthday comes around so perhaps this year, he will be receiving a piece of jewelry from me. Nothing too flashy of course. Something in moderation that won't make him feel too out there, but fancy enough to make him feel extra loved on his special day! You hear that B? Like it or not, I'm getting you jewelry this year! ihikhik
