I feel like spending the weekend in a hotel! There's no need to search high and low for Barcelona apartments or hotels in Europe however as there are plenty of superb hotels right here in PJ. B and I have been talking about a hotel getaway for the longest time but his work schedule has been really tight lately.
Hopefully, we'll get a free weekend soon, before the fasting month begins of course. I want to enjoy the comfort of a beautifully-decorated hotel suite and devour room service in bed, while making a big mess inside the room. Then get the maid to clean up after me, which is a luxury I don't enjoy at home.
It all sounds so lovely but whether it's a night of comfort in a local hotel in PJ or a week of luxury in beautiful apartments in Barcelona, this wish for a getaway will have to wait while B sorts out work stuff and I tend to my work-from-home activities. Meanwhile, I've been meaning to post more pictures from my Singapore trip last month so maybe you can enjoy them first before I resume my European Escapade.
Our flight to Singapore was my first FireFly experience by the way and all in all, it was a smooth short journey with good service so there was nothing to complain about!

Entering SentosaInitially, B and I wanted to book the Hard Rock Hotel in Sentosa but it was fully-booked so we found an alternative holiday package for Movenpick Heritage Hotel from another travel-booking site.

Located in the heart of Sentosa next to Resorts World, Movenpick Heritage Hotel is a 5-
hotel with the majestic Merlion right outside, which I found to be truly fascinating. Each time we went out, we'd pass by the statue and without fail; B and I would stop for photos with this monstrous delight.

I'm still wondering if it was just me but I found the weather in Singapore to be scorching hot and it was with much relief when we finally arrived inside the cold, almost freezing lobby of our hotel!

Matching slippersThis hotel stay saw me making full use of the hotel facilities inside our room. I've never used an espresso machine so it took some time to figure it out before I happily made a cup for me, clad in the yukata too!

As mentioned in one of my earlier posts, we had lunch @ HRC before heading out again later that evening. This is the only picture of me and B in front of the Merlion. It was taken by another tourist who was in the area and it's rather blurry but it's also the only memory of the two of us with the Merlion.
Merlion by nightShopping was not the main agenda of this short trip but of course we dropped by Vivo City, which is the largest mall in Singapore. It was packed with shoppers and since we arrived around dinner time, most restaurants were full as well.

Vivo CityWe ended back at Resorts World and dined in a cafe there. B had Mee Rebus and I had Laksa Singapore but sad to say, both dishes were just average. They were nothing to shout about though they do look yummy in my pictures here.

Mee RebusMy new heels were killing me by then so we returned to Movenpick for me to change into something flat! Thank goodness our hotel was nearby because you know how lazy I am when it comes to walking long distances!

Outside the casinoEarlier, I had read online about the strict dress code to enter the casino and we made sure we were not donning shorts or slippers. Surprisingly, once inside we spotted quite a few under-dressed visitors so I guess the dress code is not super strict after all!

Casino EntranceThe casino was awesome but of course no pictures were allowed inside. Food and drinks were FREE and I had plenty of coffee while snacking on cookies and playing the slots! I really wanted to play the Sex and the City slot machines but they were never free. I guess everybody wanted a shot at Carrie and gang! 
It was way after 3am when we finally returned to Movenpick. Exhausted and sad that we didn't win at the casino, we were still excited about spending the next day in Universal Studios! See you then!

I have yet to find time to have a staycation on Sentosa island although many of my overseas friends have stayed in several of them. Hard Rock Hotel is cool but the room is tiny.

Hotel tu memang awesome, nampak menenangkan, dan bila kita penat balik jalan2, bilik hotel memang terasa welcoming. Me selalu nyer basuh kaki kat bah tube. lepas tuu selalunya lompat atas katil, kalau katil yang empuk la yang boleh boing boing spring tilam dia.

I think you went there musim panas la dearie.. It was dry at the time.. My family sana ramai complain it's hot and humid.. memang cannot walk outside lama2 but at least not so hot like here..
And shopping at Vivo City is the best! I love shopping there especially at night coz all the colorful lights are up macam festival pulak.. Mmg syok! :-D Aww if only can see how the casino look like.. Hehe

I wish Star and I were able to go to many places there during our short stint but we had a very tight sked. We had to make do with Sentosa.

Eh the Ngan Yin peanuts are complimentary from Firefly? Last time mine is a muffin and a Ribena drink.
It's definitely nice to stay in a hotel and enjoy room service without having to clean up afterwards! That said, I prefer not to stay in luxury hotels when I travel cos my purpose of traveling is to enjoy the food and sightseeing! Hotels only to sleep at night so as long as clean it's OK with me haha!
But once in a while, I like to go for a different kind of travel ie luxury travel, meaning enjoy staying in a good nice hotel and not much of sightseeing. Just to relax and have a good time and get pampered haha!!

Wah! Gambled the night away till 3am? Haha!! Me not much of a gambler sure lose money that's why prefer not to gamble. Believe it or not I find slot machines boring! Zzzzz haha!!
