Two years back, I received my very first PR (relative importance of a page on the web, expressed as a number). I was totally clueless as to what it was all about and I remember my friend Bobby rushing over with the good news that Wishing on a Falling Star had just been granted a PR4 from Mr. G. Though I didn't appreciate it much back then, I continued blogging and eventually learned the importance of PR as one of the many success factors in making a name for my blog.
My PR later dropped to 3, and then to 2 before plummeting into a big fat 0 immediately following the move to my very own domain last November. It was disheartening to see my lovely blog labelled a PR0; I felt a little left out that she had no rank in the eyes of Mr. G.
Nonetheless, I tirelessly continued working on my blog in the hopes of slowly but surely building back its PR, which came back to me after over a month. I was thrilled with my new PR3 and was determined to protect and maintain this small but very meaningful number.
Today, I found out that Wishing on a Falling Star has been given a little boost with a brand new PR4! As it is, I've long forgotten about my PR4 glory days. It seemed an almost impossible feat so this was a wonderful surprise for me and my blog today. I'm not really sure what I did right or new, but I do know that this will surely inspire me to continue blogging with a bigger drive for success for not only Wishing on a Falling Star but for my other two blogs as well. Speaking of which, I am also excited that my newly-launched third blog Meow Diaries has been given a very sweet first-time PR3! My cats will be so pleased. I am however a little miffed that MPG is still standing solitude with a depressing 0 and that is something I need to work on.
I am not overly concerned as to how long my newly-acquired PR will last. For all I know, this little PR increment might be taken away from me whenever Mr. G feels like it. I am still learning as I blog on how to achieve and maintain a good PR for my blogs. It is still a big mystery to me but at least I'm learning and I'm like what I see so far. Thanks so much Shemah, I was so surprised and excited, unsangkarable WOAFS dapat increment, lama gils tak rasa PR4! And of coz happy for MD too, only one left behind is MPG, sob! ;)
Anyway, I checked my blogs. Phat-Wallet got PR2 and RoTP got PR1! I can't believe I'm so happy for a bloody PR1. Lol!! RoTP has been having "telur" since forever.

Well, good for you Marzie :D All that hard works pays off ya? I've long since given up on PR cos I find the algorithm for the way it works absolutely ridiculous. AG has been a PR0 for ages while my Dream Themes which has tons of paid stuff on it is a PR1 ... perplexing la!
Oh and btw, AG got EC widget finally ... hehehe ...
Mine has PR2. I think I've yet to understand its significance fully but I'll try to do better. :)

SERP is far more important than page rank. I was once page rank 3, now I've been PR zero for months, but it hasn't affected anything.
Example: If you google "wordpress basics", my post is #1 above thousands of other sites with PR6 or better, which proves that pagerank has nothing to do with what is actually found when you do a search. I used to be mad that I don't have rank (even though I should, it must be a glitch).
I'd prefer to have a higher rank than zero, but I still can't figure out what real difference it makes
