What’s in Lisbon, Portugal? Well, I would have to ask my friend Mize who lives in Portugal, another country I have yet to visit. But if given the opportunity to visit here and stay in beautiful Lisbon apartments and see for myself what the capital city of Portugal has to offer, I would definitely say yes!
So are there any able and willing sponsors keen to send me off to Lisbon? I would need two flight tickets of course, one for me and one for B! And though we are not really fussy travellers, we would still appreciate a choice of nice apartments in Lisbon!
Me and my dreams but who knows right? It could happen so you might just see me happily vacationing in Portugal with B one fine day! Meanwhile, back to reality so how about we resume my adventure in Sensational Singapore? As promised last week, I will be taking you to Universal Studios Singapore (USS) so let’s get started!
USS adventure!
Our USS passes were free by the way, inclusive in the Movenpick Heritage Hotel package we had booked, which is great because we saved quite a chunk! USS is actually quite big with 24 attractions in 7 themed zones; each one based on a blockbuster movie or TV program. We wanted to cover all 7 in a day and trust me it was quite tiring!

B in USSWe started our adventure in Hollywood and only managed to capture this shot of me touching Audrey Hepburn's star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame before we were distracted by two popular characters walking about nearby! Who doesn't want a character photo right? So off we went chasing after Woody Woodpecker and Po Kung Fu Panda!

Po Kung Fu PandaOne thing I liked about taking photos with the characters here was that you had to queue in an orderly manner as instructed by the character's keeper. In Tokyo Disneyland (been there twice and each time was no different), the crowd would rush up to any character they see and you would have to 'push' your way through in order to catch a shot with your favourites!
As mentioned earlier, USS comprises 7 themed zones namely Hollywood, New York, Sci-Fi City, Ancient Egypt, The Lost World, Far Far Away and Madagascar, which was where we went next. There are 5 main spots to visit here but we only stopped for pictures and souvenir shopping of course! Like I said, we wanted to cover all 7 zones so we didn't want to spend too much time in just one spot.

Enchanted TreeGloria's Snack Shack is a beautifully-decorated shack offering a selection of Japanese and Indian rice bowls topped with grilled meat, vege and seafood. We weren't hungry yet so we only bought drinks here. Looking back however, perhaps we should have stopped for food here because the Discovery Food Court where we ended up later, left much to be desired food-wise! Shopping in Penguin MercantileDone shopping, I was already starting to feel the fatigue from walking around under the hot sun so we took shelter under a shady spot for a breather while going through our Map.

USS sure looks like a place my kids would enjoy! :) I hope someday we can go visit as well! :)
I have yet to go inside USS although I have treated many overseas guests to the theme park. Looks like fun. I would love to go with my hubby one day.
The entrance ticket is quite expensive. A family of four visiting the park would set one back a couple of hundreds. :(
