Noisy Neighbour!

Have I told you about my cute but noisy neighbour from across the hall? And when I say noisy, I don't mean he parties all night long with loud music and insane amount of guests but I'm actually referring to the disturbingly loud racket he makes while opening or closing the main grille door. And this goes on throughout the day...and night!

The way my neighbour opens his grille door; you would think there's a fire or something! Each time he pulls his grille door open or shut, it will be with such might and force that I can hear the loud slam from wherever I am inside my unit be it the living room, the bedroom or even the master bath! It is really disturbing and I'm usually startled especially while resting quietly inside my office or taking a catnap in the living room. Oh there he goes again! Must he really slam the grille door so loudly? It's like he's angry with the world and needs to take it out on his grille!

Speaking of neighbours and homes, my friend Debbs is currently looking for a new place and she just might be moving nearer to my side of town, which is cool because I love my area. It's a short distance to IKEA, IKANO, and of course B's office. I bet Debbs must be really busy right now because we all know moving is tiring and expensive too. You can still take thing easy in the beginning, while scouting around for your new home but it is the packing and the actual move that will really take its toll on you.

To help make your next move go smoothly, here are some handy moving tips for anyone who's about to move into a new place like my friend Debbs. I wish I had made use of these tips when we moved here several years ago.

* Deal with experienced moving companies. Professional moving companies can handle moving your furniture in & out of your home on a short notice.

* Pack ahead to save you time on moving day.

* Don't pack junk! My rule is that if you have not used an item for two years, you will never use it! So throw out unused items, give them away if they're still in good condition or sell them if you have to but DO NOT bring them to your brand new home!

* Tag furniture pieces to correspond to the floor plan for moving companies. This way, the movers know where to unload each piece accordingly.

* Make yourself available during pickup and unloading of your belongings. When we moved here, the big appliance that was damaged during the move was our fridge. Immediately after the move, we noticed the fridge was not functioning well, probably due to mishandling when our movers moved it.

* Keep important papers with you at all times. Birth certificates, school records, utility company numbers, recent bank records, current bills to name a few, are the essential documents that you should keep with you and not with the movers.
