The other day, I was talking to LJ about our favourite TV programs and Nip Tuck came up. If you don't already know, I'm a huge fan of this drama, which was recommended by another friend. Centering around two super hot doctors who are also best friends, this disturbingly intriguing drama sees Sean McNamara (Dylan Walsh) and Christian Troy (Julian McMahon) as two good-looking plastic surgeons often bombarded with some ridiculous cosmetic surgery demands. With a shared practice aptly named McNamara-Troy, these two best friends also happen to be in (and sometimes out) of love with the same woman, Julia (Joely Richardson).
My favourite Nip Tuck character is definitely Sean. Though not as charming as the alluring Troy, Sean appeals to me with his sense of kindness and gentle ways, which makes him just as sexy and dashing as Christian! My least favourite character has to be Julia. Forever lost in he own world, she continues searching herself for true happiness, but somehow comes off as a pathetically sad, depressing ex-wife, who doesn't know what she wants in life or love!
Anyway, I'm currently watching Season 5 and am just as hooked on it as I was when I first watched Season 1. This season, we see Sean and Christian starting a new practice in California. Divorced from Julia, Sean moves on to start anew. We still see Sean devoted to his passion as a top plastic surgeon while the more playful Christian tends to flock towards his customary need for women, fame and glory.
As usual, there are still lots of gory moments in Nip Tuck season 5. This is when I usually look away for I am definitely not one for blood. The sight of dark red blood gushing out freely during one of the many Breast Enlargement moments in Nip Tuck is too much for my eyes to take! Sometimes I wonder at the lengths and trouble people would go to in the name of beauty. Apparently, the first cosmetic surgery took place 4,000 years ago, which means people were already placing importance on vanity and physical appearance since back then!

I still much prefer to play the role of a safe albeit plain bystander, simply viewing and not experiencing the wonders of cosmetic surgery as shown on TV. The thought of me bleeding and lying unconscious on the operating table in real life, definitely sends shivers up my spine! Plus, if anyone were to be performing any cosmetic surgery on me, I'd rather be in the safe, secure hands of handsome Dr. McNamara! Until then, I'll pass. ;)
