My good friend G, dropped by for a visit last night and I could immediately tell that something was wrong. After his usual whining session about not having a girlfriend and living in misery at the thought of growing old alone, he told us the other reason for him being upset. His plans to celebrate his 34th birthday next weekend in the party island of Koh Panghan, Thailand fell through at the eleventh hour! Every hotel he called was fully booked due to the Full Moon Party scheduled to take place on the island during his birthday weekend.
After slaving away at work this whole year, G was really looking forward to enjoying some time off. He works in an advertising agency, which means his life revolves around a hectic schedule of pleasing fussy clients, meeting crazy deadlines, working at odd hours of the day and night and during holidays too at times. A weekend of non-stop fun was exactly what he needed and now, that it’s not going to happen, G was not a happy camper!
I suggested he check out other getaway locations and referred him to a site called Cheaper Than Hotels, which offers a comprehensive list of discount hotels with more than 35,000 deals around the year. Major cities covered include London, Manchester, Paris, Barcelona , Madrid, Rome New York, Miami , Chicago, Los Angeles, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Hong Kong, Adelaide, Auckland, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. All rates are guaranteed cheaper than hotels direct and accommodation ranges from 1-star to 5-star hotels. With such a comprehensive list of locations and discount hotels available here, I'm certain he will find a suitable getaway alternative and hopefully get to celebrate his birthday in style after all, so cheer up G!
While he continued to complain about his bad luck, I was busy browsing through the many London Hotels, Barcelona Hotels, Berlin Hotels and Paris Hotels on promotion at this site. A vacation in Europe sounds extremely tempting right now; I too have been working hard this year! The Jardins D'Eiffel Hotel Paris for instance is a 3 star accommodation offered at special discounted rates from EUR 148 and is a short walking distance from the Eiffel Tower, Champ-de-Mars and Champs-Elysees. The pictures look so cosy and inviting don't they? I’d love to spend a romantic getaway with B here. Anyone fancy giving me a trip to Paris for Christmas? Just leave it under my Christmas tree here; I'd be simply ecstatic! ;)
Till next week, au revoir and have a great weekend!
