Madrid on my Mind ...

I totally forgot about my travel post this week! If you’re an ardent fan and avid reader of my blog, you would have noticed that I have a travel post out once a week. This week however, it completely slipped my mind to prepare my travel post. So here it is today, a little late but still an enjoyable read I hope!
ihikhik

I blame my forgetfulness on stress. Stress revolving real life that has been occupying my thoughts lately. And everybody knows stress is no good. It’s terrible for the mind or the physique so in order to de-stress, I plan to go for a foot massage this weekend. rindu

What I’d really like to do however is get away for a few days to forget my worries but money is a little tight lately. A few unexpected expenses came up last month and the latest project we are financing is our kitchen. We have to rebuild our kitchen counter top around the sink area and God knows how much that will cost. So like it or not, there will be no looking up gorgeous apartments in Madrid or any local travelling for Mariuca & B anytime soon.
Smiley

This however does not mean that I can’t share in the delight of other people’s travel adventures or dream about a romantic getaway to Madrid. So if and when I do find myself travelling to Spain and staying in gorgeous Madrid apartments one fine sunny day, here are some of the things I would love to do aside from visiting famous landmarks and tourist spots of course.

Shoe Shopping
Did you know that Madrid is a major producer of footwear and Augusto Figueroa Street offers numerous factory outlets? Imagine the shoes galore I’d be indulging in! Smiley

Animal Time
Faunia is a modern version of a safari park housing all kinds of animals from all over the globe. I know B would love this one too.

Scrumptious Spanish breakfast
A must visit for me would be San Gines Chocolateria, which is the best place to have Spain’s most famous breakfast - churro, a fried dough pastry also referred to as Spanish doughnut, dipped in hot chocolate.

Stunning Sunset
I would definitely want to capture breath-taking photos of amazing sunsets in Madrid. Sunsets in Madrid are stunning, magenta affairs so perhaps I’d get a new camera just for this occasion.

Rekindle the Romance
A trip to Madrid would not be complete without visiting El Retiro, Madrid’s Central Park that is perfect for a romantic stroll through the green walkways of this beautiful park where couples can also enjoy a romantic boat ride.

And that’s just a few of the many things you can immerse yourself in as you travel the days and nights away in beautiful Madrid! Let’s hope I can materialize this list one day. doa

I guess it’s time to work harder and secure new clients for my home business. I seriously need to fatten up my vacation piggy bank once again so I can start planning another adventure for real. Until then, have a beautiful weekend and check out this travel quiz by Blogthings. Apparently, I am a cultural traveller, how about you?

Marzie!! Good morning! :)

According to Blogthings, I am a Spiritual Traveler!

Each trip is dear to you, and you try to make memories that will last a lifetime.
You can't help but be a pensive traveler. Each new place changes your perception of the world.

You try to travel with purpose. You like to leave each place better than how you found it.
You are open to new experiences and people. You have a deep appreciation for different cultures.

I guess that pretty much sums me up. hahaha.. but it makes me sound so emo!! hahahahaha

Oh I wouldn't mind having churros for breakfast! I loooooove churros! :) Yes, I wholeheartedly agree that Madrid is a beautiful place to visit someday. It's gorgeous and full of culture.. aiyaiyai better sharpen up your Spanish skills. Who knows, sooner rather than later, you might be going! :)

Renovating your place, Marzie? Better kitchen counter top means more cooking lah this? :) hahaha
