What a tiring week it has been. And how I wish it was due to planning for a vacation or looking up affordable apartments in Berlin for our stay. Unfortunately, that was not the case. As good as it sounds right now, a long vacation is something B and I have both decided is simply not gonna happen this year.
Aside from Singapore, which we visited last May, there is no big-time vacation in the pipeline. Well not for another year at least. Vacations are expensive especially if you’re like me and prefer to go someplace far away from home, which calls for both dough and time. Money we can still find and accumulate but it is the time that is impossible to come by this year what with B being so busy at work.
Plus, with two deaths in the family this year, we figured it’s best to stay put and remain close to family and home for a while. It’s not much fun nor does it seem proper to happily gallivant off to another country and stay in beautiful Berlin apartments while vacationing when sadness is what’s lurking around this year.
So there will be no other major vacation this year, which is fine with us. We did however check-in to a hotel a few months back, to get away for a night. And though Bintang Royale is a mere stone’s throw away from home, it was still a wonderful getaway. We enjoyed a luxurious night stay in a cosy studio suite, shopped at The Curve without having to worry about parking, hooked up with a couple of friends in Damansara Heights later that night and devoured a leisure breakfast buffet in the hotel the next morning before heading home.

Ordering room service before retiring for the night Hotel stay is what I’m all about actually. I check-in to hotels to get away from my messy home and from the cats. It’s not that we don’t love them or my house is terribly messy, but sometimes it’s good to just be with B in a nice cosy setting, minus the meows and the mess!
I get to relax and breathe fresh hotel room air, I get to enjoy a private balcony with B to share a romantic room service dinner by night and I get to relish the space and luxury of making a mess in a beautifully decorated room only to leave it all behind for the maid to take care of when we check out the next day! It may sound simple and silly to some but hey, that is what we love doing. So right now, I’m thinking of checking in to another hotel soon.

Of course! I think every couple should get away for a while.. I'm still waiting for my turn! LMAO! As much as I love my children, I don't mind having a romantic night just with the hubs, although we haven't had that since the kids went back to my mom's place last year! Hahahahah there's so many overdue things in my life right now. Overdue getaway/vakasi/shopping spree.. hahah hopefully it will come sooner rather than later, though.
I think this is a perfect getaway. Short and sweet and just absolutely a refreshing change from your daily life. I looove staying in hotels too.. who doesn't, right? haha
Oh I've never been to J&R and the food looks pretty good! Should try it one day when I'm headed that way. My bestie is around that area so I think we should give it a try one of these days. :)
