After four years of being friends online, I finally got the chance to meet up with Nessa last night!
Mind you, this wasn’t a planned affair or anything. I kinda self-invited myself to the meet Emila was planning with Nessa and shortly after, LJ too decided to tag along and it turned into a mini get together for the four of us. Four is a great number (coincidentally my favourite number too) because the crowd was not too big (unlike last year’s HRC meet) so all of us got the time and opportunity to mingle and get to know one another in a relaxed, comfortable setting.

The menu was interesting and guess what? I finally found a place that serves Pisang (banana) with sambal! I know, I know ... before you start saying how weird it is to eat sweet banana with savoury chilli, let me assure you that these two go well together.
Of course, what I really wanted was FRIED bananas (instead of steamed) with sambal but I’ve been searching for bananas with sambal for so long and decided to give this one a try. It was yummy but the sambal could have done with a little more sugar to make it less spicy and I would have still preferred fried bananas to steamed bananas.

Sweet & Savoury Delight
Anyway, we ate, we exchanged gifts, we chatted, we laughed and we swapped girly stories of cooking, dieting, exercising, blogging and of course the addictive games both LJ and I are currently hooked on. I also received my very first birthday gift from sweet Nessa, which I am planning not to open until the 29th ha ha! B is curious and he asked me if he could open my gift without telling me the content but I am determined to wait. Yes, good things come to those who wait so I will try my best to contain my excitement and will only tear open this lovely gift-wrapped box next week!

Thanks to everyone who came that night. I really had a great time and went home smiling. See you again soon and we’ll save more laughs for another night!

I think fried banana would be better tasting with the sambal.. eh how was it with your keladi and keledek?
Also thanks for the acar.. I LOVE it.. tried it last night for my sahur and it was spicy and wow.. i think i will save some for my trip back to SG this week.. so mommy will like.. :)
