Busy Days Before Raya!

I am finally done unpacking EVERYTHING from my European escapade last year! Yeah, it took almost a year for me to finish unpacking my suitcases and almost a year for me to complete my EE posts, and I still owe about two more posts here by the way! I guess that’s what you get when you hang out with the procrastinator in me!

Around this time last year, I was busy preparing for our vacation to Europe. This year however, there is no planned trip to travel someplace far away or the need to search for hotels in Amsterdam or beautiful apartments in Milan or anywhere else in Europe. This year, B and I are staying put for Aidilfitri (Eid Mubarak) and I have been busy spring-cleaning our home.

Yesterday for instance, I spent the whole day unpacking my suitcases from our European Escapade and cleaning up the Master Bedroom. I’ve already done the living room but I don’t think I have the time to clean up my home-office just yet. That will simply have to wait after Aidilfitri.

My dresser area in the bedroom looks superb and clean right now and I threw out a whole bunch of junk too these last few days! I don’t want to end up like one of the hoarders we see on TV so as much as it pained me to throw out things I no longer use, it is still a huge relief to see our home looking more spacious and spic and span after all the cleaning and throwing out of stuff.

Aside from busy cleaning up our home, we are also occupied with our preparation for Aidilfitri this coming Tuesday. We already bought our outfits and yesterday we got our shoes and we also collected the cookies I ordered from my friend DD, who celebrated her birthday yesterday!

I usually order my Raya cookies from DD; it is much easier to order a few items from just one person and the cookies she sells are delightful as well. Our pineapple tarts however came from B's colleague in TV9 and they're delicious so it was a good thing I ordered two boxes for us! Anyway, we will be busy this whole weekend for next week’s celebration so I am taking the time to blog now before I completely go missing for a while.
