This weekend will be exactly two weeks since we sent our car to the auto shop following the 3-vehicle clash we were recently involved in. Since it's our first (hopefully last) accident, B and I were pretty lost initially in terms of the steps involved in claiming insurance from the person who knocked us to choosing the best auto repair shop for our car.
We've got things under control more or less but the car thingy is still not fully settled and of course B is the one handling all car issues and not me. I wouldn't know where to start but I did play my part by accompanying him to the auto shop as we got everything done from check engine light to appraisal of the damage to our car.
We selected an auto shop, which though not as fancy as San Diego Auto Repair, is just as good. Plus, it's also listed on our insurance panel list of auto repair shops so this we hope, will help speed things up. Our car is definitely no Ford F-150 but it still takes at least 2-3 weeks to get our Vios up and running again. So thank goodness for B's sister who so graciously loaned us her wheels while she's vacationing in Melbourne.
Anyway, tomorrow B will call the auto shop to check on our car and hopefully we can get it back soon. It's just not the same driving around in another person's car and there's always the pressure to be extra careful since a car is a big thing to borrow and we don't want to risk anything happening to our borrowed wheels! So far so good and we hope to return our borrowed car to SIL in one piece.
The worst part about being involved in a car accident (no lives lost of course) is all the hassle we have to go through to get the car fixed ... and then the wait to get it back, good as new. So do try your best to avoid car accidents at all costs and never rush to your destination. Slow and steady wins the race and it's better to be late than sorry. Happy driving!
