I am furious with a client of mine for refusing to pay me for several jobs I completed for his agency. And this has been going on for two years now! To think I sacrificed many weekends slaving over his jobs only to have him ignore me now that the job is settled. Naturally I'm angry and wouldn't you be too if you were in my shoes? 
My last form of contact with this client was last month when I sent him a firm and angry email. I told him just how disappointed I was with his agency and guess what? Until today he has yet to respond to that email or my recent calls!
The worst thing about this whole scenario is that I really can't do much since my hands are tied. Aside from emailing and bugging my client, I can only wait and suffer in silence. Every time I email a reminder to his agency, my client will feed me with silly excuses like there's no despatch guy to bank in my cheque or the cheque has been prepared but they have yet to mail it to me and so on.
Fortunately, the outstanding amount is not huge. Otherwise, I would have gladly acquired the help of a debt collection agency like Direct Recovery Associates, Inc. Yeah, this would anger anyone to put in that kind of time only to not be paid for it. While it isn't a lot of money as you said, it's the principle of the matter that's the issue here. As the cliche goes, "Time is money". Not only wasted time, but no appreciation or being compensated for it all.

Exactamundo!!! It is no longer about the money but the principle of it all and the more I think about it, the angrier I get for being used! I could have rejected his jobs but I accepted all of them cause he was so persistent, little did I know he would end up NOT paying me! :'( :'( :'( :'(

Now that is one reason why I ALWAYS insist on deposits from my clients :D I used to work in an agency and I can vouch for what horrible paymasters they are :D
