1. Location, Location, Location
The most important factor to consider is if course location. Do not get stuck with a cheaper unit isolated from your daily activities like work, shopping, dining as well as entertainment. Location is vital if you expect to enjoy living in your new apartment so choose one that fits your convenience and needs.
2. Like your Landlord
Maintain a good rapport with your landlord. Prior to purchasing our current home, we rented a condo in Sri Damansara. Our Landlord then was awesome but that's because we did not give him any headaches like late payment or causing unnecessary racket.
3. Quality First
Do not settle on the first apartment you see. Unless you immediately fall in like with your first apartment, which is very unlikely; continue searching for the best option that fits your needs in terms of quality.
4.Work Smart
Nowadays, there are so many Apartment Search Engine sites online that spiders the internet for apartment listings across dozens of sites. Rent Jungle for instance allows apartment seekers to search, sort, bookmark and share your favourite listings using the Facebook Apartment Sharing App. All the resources you need to find, lease, move and decorate your new place are organized neatly and simply into one convenient page!
5. Satisfaction Guaranteed
Do not waste your time looking at places that don’t suit your needs. Some of your needs might include washer/dryer facilities, ample space, your own entrance, privacy, a balcony and perhaps a certain budget of under RM1000 a month. Ensure your needs are met before signing the deal and moving into your new apartment.

Having lived in apartments by myself before, you are correct about them. One of the apartment complexes I stayed at on two different occasions because of job transfers that led me back to North Carolina. I had such a great rep with that apartment complex that I didn't have to pay a security deposit(which is required regardless of your credit history). As you said, having a good history with the landlord(s) is critically important.
And yes, it is location to everything you need is very important, too.

A lady with her two daughters are supposed to visit me to view my rescued cats at 1.00 put now postphoned to 5.00 pm today. My PC is on, pelik pulak since last night it works ok. I am still walkng in and out of the house kemas the Shelter, feeding the cats etc. since this morning 9 - 11 am tuition budak2. So I cannot resist but to click and check my mail. There was one blog needed my approval to be featured at my side, so I clicked, then I saw my badge, so that's how I am here now, stealing time to come to you. Sorry cerita panjang lebar, at least now you guys know how my situation here with these many cats.
I will try to post FF after these view the rescued cats, kalau tak sempat late afternoon, I must do it tonight.
This is a good post Marzie, anywhere now I dah planned to search at CasaRia near Jusco kat Maluri, Cheras, location good and I have a closed single relative who is staying there. I won't go to get a terrace house, too dangerous when one stay alone, keluar rumah nanti balik takut rumah di pecah, you tau lah di KL ada macam2 orang, perombak lah, penyamum lah, etc. so it is good to stay in a place where there is tight security. I will only bring in my 15 cats and 1 rescued cat and terpaksa letak in one room near another toilet, because here there are 3 rooms and in the master bedroom ada it's own toilet. When I am there I will keep on giving away some of my cats to good homes including friends yg reliable and responsible.
Security is sooooo in important beside location but of course I have to part with RM1,200.00 a month which would be a big pinch for me just paying it through my saving. When I am there I will go all out to search for a job plus continue doing my MLM (Lifestyles - 23 herbs blend known as "intra" since once in a while I do received the commission atas angin bila my downline purchase the product. Since I am a 40 percenter I still get 20% commission if my friends or anybody just join to consume for their daily intake. Since it works wonders on me giving me alot of energy, dah lah tu dah 3 years plus tak ada flu, tak ada deman, no ache in the body etc. that's why I ni kadang2 behave macam kanan2 riang. Kan energy tu sexy, hehehehe....

I actually love apt or condo living...but when u have too much of the same thing, you'd surely wanna try something different like living in a proper house with garden.. at times I feel like moving too but at the end of the day this is where I belong and I am happy with my current condo. :* :* :*
