Most of you already know that I run a copywriting business from home. As a copywriter, my job is to provide copy especially for advertising purposes. Copywriting for me can come in many forms including direct mail, taglines, web page content, online ads, television or radio commercial scripts, press releases, billboards, brochures, sales letters and other marketing communications media. I also provide translation from English to Malay and vice versa; and I do a little editing and proofreading if required. It is a small cosy business but I love it and I hope to take my home business to greater heights one day.
B handles my marketing. He comes up with ideas for me to promote my business, which is good because sometimes I am just so tired mentally from all the writing and translation so it's good to get fresh creative ideas from a trusted reliable source like B.
The one thing that I don't have for my business is a website and we all know how vital that is to any business. Every company, big or small, needs a good professional website design. So right now, I am toying with the idea of having a website for my home business; to market myself in the market and make my services more accessible to potential clients.
I'd have to pick the right web design firm though and the perfectionist in me will be very choosy of course. To me, an ideal website would have to come from a professional design firm - one that comes complete with in-house designers, in-house programmers and project managers to see through the whole process of designing, starting from conceptualization right up to getting it live on the internet. It could end up costly but nothing ventured nothing gain and everybody wants the best for their business right?
