After months of thinking and changing my mind over and over again, I finally decided on the perfect birthday gift for B to get me - a new laptop YAY! Since it's a pretty pricey gift, I was quite fickle in deciding which one would be just nice for me. It had to suit my purpose as a copywriter, who's always online and my needs as a blogger, as well who blogsurfs and drops EC daily. I must have gone through the brochure a dozen times before finally settling on a ...Dell Inspiron 1420! :)
Seeing that I placed my order during the Raya holiday, it took slightly longer than usual for my order to be processed and confirmed. I was quite anxious to receive my present and images of me blogging and working using my new laptop plagued my mind for days while waiting eagerly for the arrival of my special guest, Mr. Dell! ;)
The day before it arrived, I received a call from Dell, notifying me that the delivery would be made anytime between 9am - 2pm! I was worried I couldn't wake up in time for Mr. Dell to arrive, so I stayed up the whole night and by the time 11am came around and there was still no sign of Mr. Dell, I got B to take turns waiting for my present, while I took a short nap. It was almost noon by then and I could not keep my eyes open any longer.
Just as I was about to doze off, I heard the doorbell and some voices in the living room! Immediately my sleepiness went away and I bolted out of bed, into my living room and lo and behold, my long awaited special guest was finally here - Mr. Dell himself with my birthday gift! :)
Ha ha ha! I was suddenly wide awake and couldn't wait to rip open the box!
Pushing away all the instruction manuals that came with my new toy, I could not wait to see my gift! Some of you might remember me mentioning that my dream laptop is a lime green VAIO. I was more in love with the color more than anything else. However, after much thinking, I decided it was way too expensive and didn't want B to spend so much on my pressie, so I decided on a Dell instead, which has equally good features, or even better actually!
The Inspiron range comes in many colors including Spring Green, which was the closest to the lime green VAIO I wanted. However, after viewing the color choices online, I decided to go with another color as the Spring Green was just not as pretty as the lime green VAIO I initially set my heart on. If I couldn't have the actual color I wanted, I should get the one that I truly love from the actual selections offered...so I went for Flamingo Pink, which I simply adore! :)

I'm just so pleased with my new laptop so for the past few days, I have been busy transferring my files from my PC, setting and customizing my new laptop to suit the many needs of Mariuca. I even went out and purchased a wireless router yesterday, which means I can go wireless now and work or blog anywhere I please at home, instead of being limited to just my home office.
