The Busy Blogger

It was another hectic day for Mariuca. I woke up later than usual and was greeted by a messy living room and loads of laundry to do. Lately, it seems as though my days are constantly filled with lots of cleaning and work. I quickly checked my email to see if there were any new jobs for me. Surprisingly, there were no pending copywriting or translation jobs and though my livelihood depends on freelance work from my clients; I was secretly pleased to be "free" for I had several things to do on my list.

First on my agenda was a blog assignment, one which got me seriously thinking about getting paid web hosting for my blog. I hear my good friend Jean is thinking of moving her blog to a new web hosting provider, which actually got me a tad worried. Will I be left behind if I don't switch to paid web hosting? I'm very much comfortable using my blogspot blog and the free web hosting it provides, but if most of my blogspot buddies are planning on switching, perhaps it is time for me to seriously consider my options as well. So I browsed through Webhosting Rating, which is the biggest and most complete web hosting directory, hoping to get a clearer idea on what my direction should be in today's busy and competitive blog world. Picky Mariuca was on maximum fickleness today and I simply could not decide on my next step, so I moved on to the next item on my agenda - visit the hair salon!

Before I could get down to that, I first had to clean up my place. A good friend of mine will be coming over sometime this week and I wanted to ensure a clean home for her visit. I've already put up my freshly-washed curtains, but the floor is in need of a good sweep and mopping too! Don't even get me started on the massive vacuuming awaiting poor me, thanks to my fluffy cats and their fur! Will I have the time to do everything on my list today? Serves me right for waking up late, so I hustled and bustled and finally left home at almost 6pm.

After scouting around the neighbourhood for a decent looking hair salon, I settled on one which was not busy with customers. I did not have the luxury of time today to be choosy with my hair salon picks. My usual salon is in Subang, which is simply out of my way. Furthermore, I did not want to get caught in the massive traffic jam Subang is famous for. And so I settled on a new hair salon, which was reasonable in its pricing and service. However, fussy me was not 100% happy with the outcome, so no pictures of Mariuca here today!

So far so good and I'm on schedule with the things I have to do today. But now, I have to rush out a new post for a dear friend who'll be celebrating her birthday tomorrow. So drop by my perfume blog in a couple of hours to wish this lovely lady a HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Care to venture a guess on who's birthday it is? I'll give you a hint - she is the creator of my lovely Mariuca header and a wonderful artist, who runs her own successful site! She's also a wonderful friend and supporter of Mariuca and is currently in the running to be my Top Mariucan for October! ;)
