Today, I will be taking you on a tour of my favourite room in our home - my home office! I spend a lot of time in here; working, blogging or playing games, not necessarily in that order of course! ;)
Let's start with my desk, which obviously occupies the focal point of the room. This is the first place I go to every day, once I'm awake that is. My desk area needs to be as cosy as possible to ensure perfect comfort when I'm seated there. The phone/fax machine as well as my printer are arranged close by for easy access. My favourite part about this area is of course my Perfume Gallery. It feels totally amazing to be surrounded by heavenly scents as I'm typing away at my desk!
Next we have my "resource centre". Located right behind my desk for ease of reach, this is where I keep my dictionaries, advertising guides, copywriting literature and other references. It's not usually this neat, but this picture was obviously taken on a good day! My office stationery are kept in boxes and instead of filing cabinets, I have bookcases and a three-tier shelf to hold all my stuff.
In front of my desk is a spot I like to call my cosy corner. I have a day bed here, for me to relax after slaving away at my desk. It's nice to relax here while reading the papers or catching a short nap on a lazy sunny afternoon. My mini fridge is usually stocked with Coke Lite or low-fat Dutch Lady Iced Latte - my two favourite diet drinks!
And this is my reading corner. There's an entire bookcase of titles for me to choose from although nowadays, I prefer reading entertainment and celebrity magazines to catch up on the latest local and Hollywood gossip - they do make great stress-relievers!
So there you have it! Now that you've been to my home office, let me tell you why it's my favourite room. I have everything in here. B hangs out here most of the time, and so do our guests. My PC is also here which means I do all my work, blogging and gaming in here as well. What I love most about my home office however, is the space. I didn't have a proper work space in our previous home. For 2 whole years, I had to endure working on a small section of our dining table. The chair was really hard and uncomfortable and I eventually took over the entire dining table, which saw poor B and me eating on the floor sometimes! So before we moved into our current place, B paid special attention to my home office. He made sure it was equipped with Internet access and went scouting around town for the best office chair. He insisted that I got a new PC for my new office and made sure all the office furniture we purchased arrived on time. All I had to do was walk into an almost complete office and decorate it the way I please! Apparently, he felt sorry for me working in such cramped conditions in our old home and didn't want me to suffer anymore. I guess that's another reason why I love this room so much - it's filled with his loving touch! ;)
