I often find myself dreaming about winning big in some grand contest, the type of win that will change my life! I’ve also entered quite a number of contests, but only savoured the sweet sensation of victory twice – when winning the class Jack-o-lantern in Grade 1 and a bag of goodies and vouchers during an event back in my NST days. Is that as good as it gets though? What about the cash, the all expenses paid trip, the brand new BMW and dare I add – the posh Armanee condo?
Some people have all the luck in the world when it comes to winning contests. While they’re winning contest after contest on a perpetual lucky streak, I’m still waiting by the sideline. Speaking of which, my friend, Sher, is currently reaping the riches of her win in ASTRO’s Desperate Housewives contest last year. As I’m writing this, she’s happily on her way to Chicago to attend the Oprah Winfrey Show! Not only is Oprah one of Sher’s idols, she’s also flying Business class on MAS. Once she arrives, she’ll head straight to her paid-for hotel room where she’ll be staying for almost a week. All Sher needs to do is just kick back and enjoy the ride!

So, after Sher's lucky break, I'm even more optimistic that one fine day, when I’m least expecting it, I’ll win something huge. Like Forrest Gump said "Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get!"
