Too Many Things, Too Little Time!

Chinese New Year (CNY) is finally here and I still have so many things to do before my trip to MIL's hometown tomorrow! Being half Chinese means B has been celebrating CNY since he was a baby. And since I am now happily married to him, this means that I too have adopted this annual celebration as part as our married life together.
It's a mad house in here right now and multitasking is no longer working for the many things I have to complete on my list. Let's see, right now I am busy cooking. Most of the shops are closed for the 2-day holiday starting tomorrow and we decided it's best if I cook dinner tonight. Plus, cooking also means fewer expenses and we are on a strict budget in our attempt to save more and spend less. I know it's kind of weird for me to be slaving away in the kitchen at this ungodly hour but we had a late lunch today and only decided to eat in much later.

I spent the earlier part of the day checking out light fixtures online. I'm in the market for some new home lighting. We need new lights, especially since one of my naughty cats recently broke the only table lamp left in my living room. It's impossible for me to use my laptop in the living room now that it's really dark with only one floor lamp lighting up that area, so light shopping was a must today.

As much as I prefer table lamps to ceiling light fixtures, it is more practical to invest in some good ceiling lights this time around. They almost always last longer and they don't take up much space compared to floor lamps or table lamps, which sometimes get in the way of my cats jumping around, catching one another when they get into one of their playful moods. I guess that explains the broken table lamp I mentioned earlier LOL! ;)

The laundry is done, thank god for that! There is still the matter of folding the clothes and since laundry is a weekly affair in my home, you can imagine just how heavy the load is. The sight of my freshly-washed laundry towering in the laundry basket and spilling over onto my bed is a constant reminder that there's still a lot to do before my head hits the pillow!

After our very late dinner, I plan to go through all the bills that are stacking up on my office table. The thick stack of bills is doing more than its share to disturb my peace of mind every time I see it lying on the table. I know that I won't be able to travel easy tomorrow if I neglect to make my payments tonight. By hook or by crook, they need to be taken care of tonight!

I hope I won't forget to replace the kids' fountain with fresh water as well. Since they'll be home alone tomorrow, fresh water and of course fresh food is of utmost importance. It has also been weeks since I last gave them a bath or took them for grooming! Sorry kids, Master has been really busy juggling work and house chores lately. I promise to see to you after the CNY holiday okay? As you can see, there's just so many things on my agenda tonight and I haven't even selected my choice for this week's Music Monday!

I'm always saying I have so many things to do and too little time to do them all and tonight just proves it! I really have to hustle if I want to get everything out of the way before our day trip tomorrow so I can't keep this post lengthy.
