My youngest sister Melanie, celebrated her birthday in late November but it was only last weekend that I got her birthday gift. This birthday, she wanted a new pair of Nike shoes so we visited Cineleisure earlier in the afternoon for a little shoe shopping before heading to Paddington at The Curve for some pancakes later. B and I had not eaten the whole morning, so we were pretty hungry by then.

It's been a while since we visited Paddington, which B and I love by the way. What we find most appealing about this restaurant is the fact that it serves savoury pancakes. Breaking away from the traditional sweet pancakes we are all well accustomed to, Paddington dishes up unique and delicious savoury pancakes as well. Initially, we were quite apprehensive about ordering a savoury pancake but after having a taste, we were truly, madly and deeply hooked! Savoury pancakes from Paddington are the best. You have to try it at least once. Otherwise you'll be missing out on one of the most delicious delights ever!
The menu at Paddington is really extensive. It usually takes us 10 minutes just to browse through the menu, eagerly hoping to discover new menu items or simply admiring the unique pancakes and other delicious meals available. Not only can you savour mouth-watering desserts, the savoury pancake sets also make hearty & healthy meals for your dining pleasure. From sweet and savoury American pancakes and Dutch Pannekoek (pann-ne-kook are 12" thin pancakes mainly served for lunch or dinner) to Pancake Burgers and Blintzes (fried pancakes with fillings), you will be spoiled for choice. Each dish looks and sounds delicious, it's plain difficult to settle on one! ;)

As usual I found myself immersed in the menu, exclaiming delight at all the new menu items I'm tempted to try. This is my usual routine. Every time we're on our way to a favourite restaurant, I'd tell B I'm going to be adventurous by choosing an entirely new dish, one I've not had before. When we get to the restaurant, I'd pore through the menu carefully, voicing out my delight at this and that. I'd go for the most exotic-sounding item while B prefers to play it safe with something he has tried before and loved. The conversation ends with B reminding me how I usually end up disappointed whenever I decide to be adventurous and me ordering the same old favourite, which in this case is the picture below.

As expected, Full Monty was delicious that night. Chipolatas, beef bacon, beef pepperoni, mozzarella, sunny side up, mashed potatoes, baked beans and guacamole. I especially love the brown gravy that comes with the mashed potato. With bits of mushroom and delightfully gooey and thick in texture, I have no complaint whatsoever aside from the portion it comes in. Paddington can afford to be more generous with their brown sauce.
Just looking at these sinfully delicious pictures is enough to add 10 pounds to me, which is a no-no for Mariuca who's constantly on a diet or at least tries to be LOL! This year, with the New Year bells still ringing in the air, I've decided to get a little help from diet pills. Worry not for they're safe for consumption and hopefully will aid me in the effective weight loss plan I have in mind.
I guess I also have to forgo all these yummy restaurants for now and be content with pictures only. Perhaps my other friends who would like to shed off some of the holiday weight we unintentionally put on over the last few weeks celebrating Christmas and New Year can check out this recommendation as well. Good luck dieters! I think it will take more than luck for me to stick to my diet this time, hence the diet pill support!
The birthday girl went home later that night, content with her new blue Nikes and a full satisfied tummy. Happy Birthday Mel, we love you! :)
