Raya with Mariuca

Well, Hari Raya came and left and after all the shopping, cleaning and eating, I think I'm ready to get back to work (though I'm still on leave until Friday) and blog a post or two. :)

The first day of Raya was spent at my MIL's place, followed by my parents' home. We had an abundance of Raya food including the usual ketupat, chicken and beef rendang, lemang, sambal kacang, serunding and lots more. As usual, we ate and ate till we could not eat another bite and I ended up bringing home some of the food to be served for a late brunch the following day.

Raya goodies for my non-Muslim blog friends who might have missed out on these Raya delights, enjoy!

Issy and B

Having spent the First Day of Raya at my MIL's home and my parents', we decided to have a small intimate dinner last weekend for baby Issy who'll be leaving us soon. But first, we needed to do some major spring cleaning as our home was in no condition to be expecting guests, seeing that it was in a mess!

Naturally, we turned to IKEA for some shopping, and B and I spent the whole afternoon there. I brought along my credit card of course and only started worrying about the damage after we got home! No point in worrying about how much we spent while busy shopping, that would just take the fun out of shopping right? Speaking of credit cards, some of my friends have been complaining to me about having their credit card applications rejected so now, you can actually check out dsiSolutions to find out more on credit repair, credit dispute and ways to improve credit score. Hopefully, you'll get better luck in your
next application and you too can happily go on a shopping spree like me LOL!

Shopping spree!

Anyway, by the time we came home, we were too exhausted to do any decorating or cleaning, so that was saved for the next day, which saw both of us furiously dusting, mopping, decorating and vacuuming for the big day. I think we did an excellent job too because the first thing my mom said when she entered our home was that everything looked so clean since her last visit so YAY!

Spic and span for mom's inspection!

Dinner is served

We were already sick of eating Raya food, so B and I decided to serve a normal but nonetheless delicious menu for dinner. Sweet n sour prawns, shrimp egg Fu Yong, fried asparagus with belacan (shrimp paste) and black pepper chicken. Our menu was a hit if we do say so ourselves and we enjoyed watching our guests devoured every last bit of food served.

Baby Issy was a curious George alright! She crawled around everywhere, exploring every corner and anything that was in her path. It was so entertaining to see her antics and I snapped as many pictures as I could.

MEOW! Baby Issy couldn't get enough of my fluffy kitties!

Thirsty after all her exploring!

I want food Aunty Marzie!

I even managed to get B to entertain us with his piano skills! Usually, I gotta wait for him to be in the mood to play a tune or two for yours truly but since it was my mom who made a special request for him to play the piano, B couldn't possibly refuse and happily provided the entertainment for the night. Thanks love! :)

I always get all dreamy listening to B play the piano

Everybody wants to hug baby Issy!

All in all, it was a terrific Raya and though we had an exhausting week, we enjoyed every bit of it. Once again, I'd like to wish a Happy Hari Raya to all our friends and I hope your Raya was just as wonderful as ours! :)
